New MiniComic Today, Don’t Miss it!

Due to a few set backs, inking took a little longer than I had planned, but nevertheless here it is: my first zine/minicomic (not really sure which category it falls under, so if someone knows the difference between the two, please fill me in!).

I will be doing a print run of these and secretly dropping them in random books at my local library too (shh don’t tell the librarians…), so it’ll be interesting to see if someone picks one up. And if by chance you ARE one of them, I’d love to know, so please leave a comment or send me a tweet (@MechanicalPen_).

If you would like a physical copy, I’d more than happily send one out in an envelope direct to you, send me an email at ‘sam_mulhern(at)hotmail.com’ and we can work it from there

So I’ll stop talking now and let the art take over:

      • Thanks for the comment Brian. The fox and sparrow may become recurring characters later on (especially because I enjoy drawing them so much, however, may need to be prequels after the death of the fox), but while I’m warming up to zines, I think I’ll be trying out a few different plots and styles. What would you be more interested in seeing?

    • Thanks for that! Yeah, after talking to a couple of people, it seems that confusion was pretty common on the first read. So that’s something I’m definitely doing my best to improve on for my next ones.

    • Haha, I know what you mean by being put off by the amount of work! That’s why I decided to start in this smaller format, rather than trying to go in deep on my first real shot. If you ever do put out even a minicomic (or a full one for that matter), make sure to send me a link, I’d love to see it.

  1. Found a bunch of art books in the library with some of them wedged between the pages. I’ll admit I did take one, so I hope you don’t mind. I think it’s a neat little idea though, both the comic itself and spreading it out in the community like that. Good work 🙂

    • Thanks Michael, it’s great to hear back from someone who found one! I made them to be taken, so I definitely don’t mind. I’ve spent so long reading in libraries that I thought it was about time I gave something back, even if it was in a pretty small way.
